I have neglected my blogging for the last year as I have had a lot to focus on. It’s been a year spent in reflection both professionally and academically.
I completed the Human Computer Interaction module offered by Stanford on the Coursera platform gaining full marks (taps finger on tongue and draws an imaginary ‘1’ in the air). It’s a great experience and I would recommend take a Coursera class or one of the alternatives such as Udacity.I have adopted the techniques I learnt from the Stanford class in my everyday and project work so I feel I am better at;
- Information Architecture
- Taxonomy & Ontology
- Usability Experience
I have been neglecting my development & coding skillsets so that is where I am currently focusing – building Native iOS Apps and attempting to build beautiful grid-driven HTML5 websites. I am using a couple of ‘Tools’ (or cheats depending on your development purity level) which I will review in the near future.
It’s been a great year overall with our iFarm project getting to 10,000 users in a year and just recently launching a new store the iFarm Shop built on the ‘Tumblr of eCommerce’, Tictail.com
There is much more to come over the next 6 months and I hope to keep you all updated and give insight into a turning a long-term strategy into actual results and change!
Before I go, here is a picture from a lovely fresh Irish Winter morning
